I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Amsterdam and the Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam working within the COVIDEU project

In my thesis I focus on the public justification of restrictive measures and the effects thereof.  Specifically, my research is concerned with the effects of intra-EU border closures and border controls on political attitudes like EU support, as well as the justifications given for the measure by different political actors.

To learn more about those topics I apply various quantitative (DiD designs), qualitative (e.g. content analysis), text-as-data and experimental methods (survey experiments).

Previously, I have worked on the Viral Communication project where I conducted a longitudinal interview study in Germany and co-authored various papers.
